Anyone who has ever sung in a chamber choir will know the pleasure it brings and Sterndale is no exception.  We sing a wide range of music from across the centuries, covering many styles and several languages.  Much of the music is a cappella, but we also join with other musicians to accompany us where appropriate.  Whatever we choose to sing, we aim for a high standard which provides enjoyment for the singers and audience alike.

The choir members are an eclectic mix, aged from twenty-
something to sixty- something (we don’t ask), from all walks of life, who share a common enthusiasm for music.  We also enjoy each other’s company during the break in rehearsals, in the pub afterwards or at various social functions organized during the year.  

If you would like to come and hear us in rehearsal, please contact me or Alan Jeavons, the registrar.  We meet on Monday evenings in St Mark's Church, Broomhill, Sheffield at 7.45 pm.  Sing along with us and then decide after a week or so whether you would wish to join us.  You will need a reasonable degree of sight singing and there will be a short audition.  At the moment additional basses would be particularly welcome. There are currently no vacancies for sopranos or altos, though we would be happy to register your interest on our waiting list.
